Description

The print series Gekkō’s Miscellaney wanders through a variety of genres. This print captures an agricultural scene of women gathering bracken. Ōgata Gekkō distinguished himself as a younger artist in the first exhibition of the Painting Appreciation Society (Kangakai) in 1885. He went on to earn prizes at world’s fairs and expositions in both the US and Europe.
