Did You Know?

The subject is wearing toe-rings on his right foot.

Description

The portrait is of a man clad in a sumptuous gold and maroon robe sitting on an armchair in a carpeted interior hung with green glass lamps. European influence is also notable in the front-facing depiction of the subject, instead of the profile-facing depiction in traditional Rajasthani portraiture. The person appears to be from a wealthy background as he wears pearl and emerald necklaces and gold bracelets.
