Shore’s photographic career began at age 14 when three of his photographs were purchased by the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Description

This picture, according to Shore, is both a formal exploration of “how to convert the experience of a complex three-dimensional space into a flat, bounded medium” and a “cultural exploration” of the boundary between a New England industrial town and the countryside that surrounds it.
