Description

Charles Harbutt invites us to feel as if we, in place of him, are the visitor at Patricia Highsmith's home in a small village south of Paris, France. Here, surrounded by plants and cats, she devotes herself to writing. The photographer sits on one side of a coffee table strewn with an ashtray, books, wine glasses, her teacup, his coffee cup. The writer stares back at him, silent, with cigarette in hand.
