Ilse Bing, born and raised in Frankfurt Germany, fell in love with Paris.
Bing moved to Paris in 1930 determined to succeed as a professional photographer. “The moment I put my foot on the Paris pavement,” she said, “I knew it was my atmosphere. . . . I breathed in art, and felt myself unfolding.” She photographed the nightlife, amusements, and unique character of her adopted city including its gardens and parks.
