Did You Know?

A group of bumble bees surround the heroine, attracted to her perfume.

Description

Outside an open bedchamber, a woman sits on a high stool with her arms stretched up overher head. Her attendant holds a pot of incense that will make her body and garments fragrant in anticipation of an amorous reunion. The red border with silver floral ornament is characteristic of this widely dispersed series.
A vertically oriented gum tempera and ink painting features a central rectangular scene within a wide red border decorated with silver floral motifs. Two figures with light skin tones occupy a white architectural courtyard. To our left, a woman with arms raised above her head stands on a pedestal. To our right, a figure sits holding a smoking vessel. Small black insects swarm near the structures. A yellow header containing black script tops the scene.
