Did You Know?

Kenilworth Castle comprises five centuries of English military and civil architecture from a medieval fortress to an Elizabethan palace.

Description

Kenilworth Castle has been a tourist attraction since the late 1700s. It gained an even larger audience when it became the subject of Sir Walter Scott's popular historical romance novel Kenilworth in1821.
A horizontally oriented carbon print photograph depicts the roofless stone ruins of a castle against a pale sky. Crumbling towers and empty window frames are draped in dark ivy. In the center, shadowy trees rise above a low stone wall. A weathered wooden fence stands in the foreground on the right. To the left, a lone tree in a grassy field is reflected in a small pool of water.
