A horizontally oriented cream paper spread features five vertical columns of gestural black ink calligraphy. The Chinese characters range from bold, saturated strokes to thin, wispy lines, divided by a central vertical crease. A small rectangular red seal marks the upper right corner. In the lower left sit two square red seals, the upper depicting white characters on red and the lower red on white. The ink displays varied textures throughout.
