The museum currently owns three doublesided leaves from the same manuscript.

Description

This leaf from a psalter and prayerbook is intricately decorated and was probably produced for use in a private noble family. The prominent mention of Saint Godehard (died 1038), Bishop of Hildesheim, in the original manuscript suggests that it was produced for use in the diocese of Hildesheim (Norther Germany).
A manuscript page features Latin script and illuminated initials in the upper three-quarters. To the left, a gold border contains stylized flowers and a small bird. Below the text, a painting depicts a winged child with light skin tone and a yellow tunic reaching for a strawberry among green vines. Large initial letters in blue, red, and green punctuate the script, which is rendered in ink, tempera, and gold on vellum.
