Page numbers are listed twice, above and to the left of the text, using two systems.
A horizontal handscroll on tan palm leaf features three dense columns of black ink script. The text is arranged in wobbly, undulating rows, creating movement across the rectangular surface. Two circular binding holes punctuate the composition, separating the dark clusters of script. Small characters mark the outer margins like stamps. The leaf's edges are worn and uneven, while the linear arrangement provides a rhythmic, symmetrical flow to the handwritten lettering.
