A horizontally elongated palm leaf in gum tempera and ink features three rectangular blocks of dense black script on a natural tan surface. Two small circular holes punctuate the leaf between text sections. Small inscriptions flank the far left and right edges. The edges of the leaf are slightly uneven with darkened staining throughout. The composition balances the dark, packed characters against the long, organic expanse of the support.
