Dense black ink is applied to a horizontally oriented palm leaf of pale tan. Three rectangular blocks of rhythmic, compact script are arranged across the textured surface, punctuated by two circular voids in the gaps. The leaf's irregular edges taper at both ends, revealing subtle horizontal grain lines. The composition balances the natural, weathered quality of the material with the rigid geometric regularity of the dense, dark ink sections.
