Horizontally oriented black ink on a long, narrow tan palm leaf features three dense rectangular blocks of script. Two circular punctures divide the sections, creating symmetrical voids. Small characters dot the margins like grayed remnants of the central text. The tightly packed lettering maintains a rigid rhythm against the weathered, rounded edges. This composition balances the dark weight of the ink with the warm, textured surface of the ancient medium.
