A horizontally oriented palm leaf in gum tempera and black ink features three distinct blocks of dense script. Two circular holes pierce the warm tan surface between the sections. The dark ink creates rhythmic patterns against the smooth leaf, bounded by frayed, irregular edges. Repeated, precise characters fill each rectangular block, while the natural grain and weathered texture of the narrow material show through the gaps and along the perimeter.
