Black tempera and ink applied to a horizontally oriented, tan palm leaf features three rectangular blocks of dense script. Two circular binding holes puncture the surface between the columns. The leaf's edges are irregular, with a small notch along the top. The pigment contrasts with the textured, fibrous surface, creating a balanced and linear composition across the long, narrow medium.
