Horizontally oriented black ink on a warm tan palm leaf features three dense blocks of script. Two small circular holes punctuate the surface between the text blocks. Rows of uniform characters create a rhythmic texture across the strip, which has irregular, frayed bottom edges. Small notations on the margins frame the composition, balancing precise calligraphy with the weathered, organic material of the long, narrow leaf.
