Dense black ink is brushed onto a long, horizontal rectangle of light tan palm leaf. Three distinct blocks of script are arranged across the surface, separated by two circular holes. The organic material displays a fine horizontal grain and slightly uneven edges. Gum tempera defines characters against the textured, striated background, creating a rhythmic sequence of dense text and open space across the thin, aged folio.
