A horizontally oriented gum tempera and ink painting on a long, narrow strip of palm leaf features jagged edges and a muted brown tone. Horizontal grain and dark, mottled patches texturize the surface, which is pierced by two circular holes—one at center-left and another at center-right. Near the left edge, a translucent, light gray rectangular patch wraps around the leaf, contrasting against the aged, fibrous material.
