Description

An elegantly dressed woman stands at the center of the composition. She carries a plate with a tea cup and saucer in one hand while she holds a letter, marked with a prominent red seal, up to her lips with the other. This drawing captures the woman in mid-action as she tiptoes across the room.
A vertically oriented watercolor and gouache drawing depicts a woman with light skin tone in a quiet interior. Wearing a blue and orange striped overdress and white skirt, she looks down at a letter with a red seal while balancing a tray. Soft light filters through an open doorway framed by heavy gray curtains. Beside her, a flowered vase rests on a round table, rendered in delicate, muted washes.
