A hanging scroll in ink and pale washes depicts a towering mountain with undulating peaks. In the foreground, spindly trees with detailed leaves and needle-like branches stand by a rocky shore. A line of loosely suggested figures walks a path in the middle ground toward a building on the right. Dense clusters of brushstrokes define textured mountain slopes. Chinese calligraphy and red seals occupy the upper left corner against the cream-colored paper.
