Did You Know?

This drawing is a preparatory sketch for United States currency, proposed during President Taft's administration.
A vertically oriented graphite drawing on light brown paper depicts a muscular nude woman with light skin. She sits facing left, head tilted back looking upward, a cloth draped over her head. Her left arm extends to hold a thin rod, while her right hand rests near her shoulder. Her legs cross at the ankles. Fine hatching and shading define her toned form.
