Did You Know?

This drawing is a preparatory sketch for United States currency, proposed during President Taft's administration.
A vertically oriented graphite drawing on tan paper depicts three seated women. The central, fully rendered figure is nude and sits facing forward with legs spread. She rests her arms on the shoulders of two lightly sketched companions. The figure on our left is in profile facing right, while the one on our right looks inward. Faint grid lines cross the composition, and a signature appears in the lower right.
