Did You Know?

This print, the right print from a triptych of which the museum has only the left and right, shows people looking at votive plaques called ema hanging near the ceiling of a hall where tea is served to visitors.
A vertically oriented woodblock print depicts four women with light skin tones in a wooden hall. In the foreground, one woman sits on a bench facing our right with a folding fan. To our left, two women in peach and green robes stand; one holds a white cloth near her mouth. A woman in a black robe stands to our right, looking upward. Above, paintings of horses and a sword adorn the wooden beams.
