A horizontally oriented sepia print depicts a clearing. On our left, two figures huddle on the ground; a man cradles a woman with an arrow in her chest, dogs resting nearby. To our right, gnarled, textured trees with heavy, stippled foliage loom beneath a pale sky. Repeated, fine hatch marks and tonal washes create the dense thicket, cast in darkness with a tight threadwork of interweaving limbs.
