Spectacular Watercolors | Acuarelas Espectaculares

Join us at the Community Arts Center for a spectacular watercolor workshop with watercolorist Jeff Suntala! Participants explore the medium and learn the role storytelling plays in creating an adventurous landscape. Inspired by the special exhibition Spectacular Freedom: Andrew Wyeth and the Modern American Watercolor, guests are encouraged to reflect on feelings evoked by their time in nature. This workshop is open to people of all artistic abilities. All materials are provided and are nontoxic.

Jeff Suntala is a lifelong Cleveland- area illustrator and watercolorist and a 1981 graduate of the Cooper School of Art. With the advent of the computer came a whole new way of creating commercial art, which resulted in a longing to return to the analog real deal of paint on paper. Plein air watercolor painting has been his passion for the past several years. Simplifying and organizing the sensory overload one receives in the field is a constant struggle, and the challenge never gets old. Jeff currently freelances as an illustrator from his home studio and sketches or paints plein air when the opportunity arises. View Jeff’s watercolors on his artist website.

Los participantes exploran el medio y aprenden el papel que juega la narración en la creación de un paisaje aventurero. Inspirados en la exposición especial Spectacular Freedom: Andrew Wyeth and the Modern American Watercolour, se anima a los visitantes a reflexionar sobre sentimientos que ha provocado su tiempo en la naturaleza. Este taller está abierto a personas de todas las capacidades artísticas. Se proporcionan todos los materiales y no son tóxicos.

Jeff Suntala es ilustrador y acuarelista de toda la vida en la zona de Cleveland y se graduó en 1981 de la Cooper School of Art. Con la llegada del ordenador surgió una forma completamente nueva de crear arte comercial, lo que le llevó a desear volver a la pintura analógica real sobre papel.
