An oil portrait depicts a boy with a light skin tone wearing a dark brown jacket and cap that nearly blend in to the like-color dark background. The boy looks out and slightly down, lips placed loosely together, and a fringe of brown hair just emerging from the edge of his cap. The left side of his face is shaded. Beneath his brown jacket he wears a collared, lighter brown ribbed shirt.
