Description

This portrait was made in Spain, where the artist (the son of Giambattista Tiepolo, the great Venetian fresco painter) lived between 1762 and 1770.
A vertically oriented oil painting depicts a woman with light skin tone from the chest up, her head tilted slightly as she looks toward us. A dark flower is pinned into her reddish-brown hair. A vibrant orange and yellow scarf drapes over her head and shoulders. She wears a white ruffled neckline, an intricate gold and gray patterned bodice, and a blue cloak, set against a dark background.
