Did You Know?

The elaborate applied glass beadwork decorating the surface is characteristic of the Bagobo people.

Description

This shoulder bag is built on a rigid, flat-bottomed rattan basket. A rough, red-dyed cotton cloth has been shaped to the basket and secured with abacá fiber stitching. The strap features small metal sequins sewn along the strap and at the hem. Additional beaded strands hang from the strap junction and rim, each terminating in small fiber-wrapped tassels.
