A color woodblock print depicts a woman with light skin tone standing on a shore facing our left, bending forward to comb her long black hair. A patterned gray and red kimono is draped around her waist, leaving her torso bare. Stylized gray waves fill the background, while to the right sits a large reddish woven basket. In the upper right, a decorative cartouche features Japanese calligraphy.
