The image of the giraffe is created by hand engraving on the reverse side of the crystal form.
Description
This work served as the inspiration for a poem by Marianne Moore, "To a Giraffe," commissioned by the Poetry Society of America for its volume, Poetry in Crystal, published in 1963, which was a collaboration between a group of leading poets and Steuben Crystal.
