Did You Know?

Ishidōro are stone lanterns or votive lights at temples and shrines. They were introduced to Japan from Korea and China in the 6th century CE.

Description

Ward traveled extensively—to Japan, India, and Europe as well as to Mexico—always on the lookout for materials and inspiration for her artworks. In this object, Ward continues her exploration creating net-like structures using needle and yarn.
