Banana flowers hang pendant and are bright pink.

Description

The four-armed goddess sits on an open lotus against a dark green background. She holds a discus, sword, bowl of cakes, and a shield. Banana trees flank her, and her tiger mount stands beneath. The subject in the painting appears to be a regional form of the Devi, as the name “Mangala” does not appear in major Hindu scriptures.
A vertically oriented gum tempera painting depicts Goddess Mangala with a medium skin tone seated on a pink and white lotus. Facing right, her four hands hold a gold hoop, sword, bowl of white spheres, and red box. In the lower right, a yellow and black striped tiger faces the goddess with an open mouth. Stylized trees flank the dark green background, with script in a white band above. A red border frames the scene.
