A horizontally oriented lithograph depicts two groups crossing on off-white paper. Furthest left, soldiers in helmets and packs march right. Facing them, civilians walk left, including a central woman clutching two large, light-toned sacks and an older man in a cap. The figures are rendered in dense black strokes against a dark, textured background. French text frames the composition: "les deux cortèges" at the top and "ayez pas peur" at the bottom.
