This luxurious man’s nightcap is densely
embroidered with rich scrolling vines bearing
stylized flowers and leaves. The crown is cut in
quarters but is still in one piece; the seams are
concealed with plaited braid work. The turned-up brim is decorated with silver bobbin lace edging
and spangles, or polished metal discs.
